Rebecca is a sculptor working in fibreglass and uses glass as a skin to her sculptures. There are many layers of meaning which unite her work. Rebecca draws on symbolism and explores the botanical life cycle as a metaphor for celebrating all life. To this end she looks at concepts such as ‘growth’ and explores detail only visible with the help of a microscope, such as in the case of pollen and seeds as well as chromosomes and the DNA spiral. Numbers, their reoccurrence and the patterns they make is another fascination of this natural world. |
