'Frondis' 16m tall. commissioned by Elstone Hayes for Royal Caribbean, 2008.
'Buckyball' 1.2 m dia. Buckyball considers the structure of the carbon molecule and the role of carbon within photosynthesis and growth. One form the carbon molecule takes is the Bucky ball, essentially a geometric form made up from 20 hexagons and 12 pentagons and is one of the forms carbon takes when it is created in the stars, 2008.
'White Lotus' 0.7m. The lotus is a positive symbol in many cultures and religions. In Ancient Egypt it represents rebirth and creation, because at night the flower closes and sinks beneath the surface of the water to re-emerge at dawn, 2007.
'Rocket Pollen' 0.5m dia, 2006. Rocket pollen has a spiky appearance like some types of pollen. This sculpture is part of a group of works which consider pollen grains. Pollen fly around in the air invisibly suspended, life charges on a parallel plain.

'Kalyptos' 0.6m dia. Kalyptos and Akalyptos were developed from eucalyptus seed shells. The name eucalyptus is derived from the Greek ‘kalyptos’ which means ‘to reveal’ and refers to the way the little pointed caps fall away from the pods to reveal the flowers which then become the seeds, 2007. Private collection, Barbican, London.
'Gingko' 0.8m & 1m tall, 2008. Leaves are the solar panels of trees. The Gingko is the ancient and only member of a group of deciduous conifers. They have a distinctive fan shape and turn golden in the autumn, which is why the gingko is commonly known as the maiden hair tree.
'White Grass' 1m tall, 2007. Commissioned by Elstone Hayes for Cunard 'Queen Victoria'
'Taxus' 2m tall, private commission, Cambridge, 2007. Taxol is a drug for fighting some forms of cancer and was developed from Yew needles.
'DNA Seedlings' 2.5m tall, private commission, Cambridge, 2007. DNA Seedlings have a twisting spine which curves around each sculpture.
'Nanocrystals' 3m,1.8m & 1.2m dia, 2008. Four armed carbon nano crystals are found in solar panels. These amazing man made crystals generate electricity when photons from sunlight hit them. They have inspired me to explore the concept of how energy is created and the role of carbon in the world. My preoccupation focuses on the idea of plants generating energy from sunlight via their leaves, plant growth and expiration.
'Frondis' 16m tall. Commissioned by Elstone Hayes for Royal Caribbean, 2008.
'Akalyptos' 0.7m dia. Kalyptos and Akalyptos were developed from eucalyptus seed shells. The name eucalyptus is derived from the Greek. Akalyptos refers to the shell after the seed have dispersed. The seed is dispersed mainly by the wind, 2007. Private collection, Barbican, London.
'Quercus' 5m & 6M tall, 2008. The Harold Hillier Gardens near Southampton have kindly offered me access to all areas of their research facilities. The resulting body of work was shown predominantly at ‘Art in the Garden’ at the Hillier Gardens last summer, and in shows in Wimbledon, Rutland and Salisbury. This work explores the concept of energy, photosynthesis and geometry within a language of botanical structures. In particular it focuses upon the production of energy within plants and it is a metaphoric exploration of triumphant life via symbolic botanical form.
'Lotos' 1m tall. The lotus is a positive symbol in many cultures and religions. In Ancient Egypt it represents rebirth and creation, because at night the flower closes and sinks beneath the surface of the water to re-emerge at dawn. Private collection Italy, 2007.
