Kalyptos and Akalyptos were developed from eucalyptus seed shells. The name eucalyptus is derived from the Greek ‘kalyptos’ which means ‘to reveal’ and refers to the way the little pointed caps fall away from the pods to reveal the flowers which then become the seeds. Akalyptos refers to the shell after the seed have dispersed. The seed is dispersed mainly by the wind. 2007 |
